Ladies and gentlemen! LIVE, direct from Spain . . . give a warm welcome to . . . ENKARU!
The creator of TRISQUEL, Enkaru will start on art with the first page of Chapter 3! (That’s overall page 53, for those playing at home.)
Check out her first take on the band above! Get a look at some more of her work HERE, And go to NEWSARAMA tomorrow for an interview with her, Troy, Ben AND Sarah Vaughn (whose ALEX +ADA #1 is out from Image Comics today!!)!
Going to be announced during the day on Wednesday. Stay tuned! And be on the lookout for a major interview at Newsarama featuring Troy, Ben, Sarah and . . . the new artist. Until then, how about Ben on Page 44? And read Alex + Ada #1, in stores now!
As you know, Sarah Vaughn has faced some difficulties in the past year. Sarah is unable to continue drawing in a regular capacity, and has exited the regular art chores on Sparkshooter.
HOWEVER! As previously announced, Sarah won’t be going anywhere. She’s designing the new version of the site. She’ll still lend a land in the art department with designs and covers (yes, covers; more in the future). And we’ll still be talking about her OTHER work, like her co-writing gig with Jonathan Luna on ALEX + ADA, beginning in November from Image Comics.
So, what about Sparkshooter? Well, the good news is that we have Part 1 of A Plan. As we announced in the interview that we did with DoItIndy, our own Ben Olson of Solo Acoustic is going to step in and complete Chapter 2. The plan is that Solo will take a break after #34 (which should run October 30th), and Ben will, during that break, turn out the last 9 pages of Sparkshooter Chapter 2 before returning to Solo Acoustic.
From there? Well, gang. We are indeed looking for a new regular Sparkshooter artist to take over with Chapter 3. Interested parties are welcome to message Troy.
Now, you may ask, why isn’t Ben moving over? Well, Ben decided to stay on Solo Acoustic, and we shall now run BOTH Solo Acoustic and Sparkshooter simultaneously in the future. And each feature will have its own section of the site in the new redesign (which is, again, by Sarah).
That’s the news at the moment. Feel free to comment, send artist suggestions, and share the hell out of our comics. Thanks for reading!
